#6 Decide Your Own Future
Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Do you care about money? Numbers? Follower count?
Honestly, it’s pretty easy to jump on board for a new topic every week and get followers. But, when you do that, it’s just as easy to lose those followers - one day you could be making $1,000 and the next day, nothing. Therefore, before you move forward, you want to decide who you want as your audience.
Don’t think short-term (1-2 years). Think long term, in 5-10 years. That’s actually why I started this newsletter. I want to grow a list of individuals who are actually interested in my growth, the growth of my business, and people who want to grow themselves. It might be starting out slow (and it is SLOWWW), but I am okay with it. Because I’m thinking long term - where do I want to see myself in 5 years? I want to still be with you guys (and girls) - not doing random topics, not burning myself out and disappearing, but actually providing you value and insight that you can use to build your own image, brand and business online.
That’s how you should also think.
You might be asking - what is the value in building a slow fan-base or followers when people are building millions of followers online within an year. Most of these types of people aren’t making that much money because - first, they don’t know how to - and second, they can’t. On the other hand, people who have build slow but focused follower count have built loyal fans. When THESE people release stuff or partner up with brands, they make a ton more money.
So, don’t get distracted by the glitter. Start something, start small, start anywhere. Get that going. If it doesn’t work out in the beginning, then you can always change gears, because what you choose at the end is what’s going to matter.
Yours Truly,
Nadeem
p.s. In relation to this newsletter, I’m planning to rebrand my entire YouTube channel and also release a new site. Keep an eye out for it, because you’ll be the first ones to see them! ;)
