#1 Using Zen to Achieve Success

Steve Jobs used these principles of Zen to achieve success...

If you want to succeed in life and business, you need to learn to do three things.

  1. Quiet your mind.

  2. Focus your attention.

  3. Cultivate your creativity.

These are also the three things that Steve Jobs did to build his empire. He used these three principles to make products that were elegant, minimalistic, and user-friendly.

In order to quiet his mind, stay focused, and cultivate creativity, Steve Jobs used meditation, simplicity, and the concept of “oneness” within Zen. That is why his products are so interconnected, yet simple to use. Without integrating these principles of Zen within his business, Steve Jobs would never have found the right product that people continue to love!

As a human, we need to apply these principles not just within our business, but our personal lives as well. Meditation, even five minutes a day, is enough to increase the activity within our brains. This leads to a clearer picture and understanding of what we actually desire, want and how to achieve our goals.

The thing is, meditation isn’t hard as people like to believe. You don’t need spend hundreds of dollars to start meditating either. You can meditate wherever you want to, and however it works for you. For example, maybe when you wake up in the morning, rather than grab your phone right away, you should close your eyes and lay there with a blank mind - not worrying or stressing about work or the issues in your life. Maybe, you put on music and just sit in your chair for 5 minutes before diving into work at 8am in the morning. Or, if you have the luxury of having a spare room, turn that into a place where you can go and blank you mind.

Everyone has a different way of meditating. You need to find your own way. This will lead you to focus, clarity, and creativity.

When it comes to quieting my brain - I usually end up reading a novel.

How do you quiet your mind? I’d LOVE to hear what you do that helps you stay focused and sane in this rapid world!
